BSTOR is Belgium’s leading independent stationary battery storage (BESS) project development, financing and ownership boutique, backed by Ackermans & van Haaren, Wallonie Entreprendre and Bruno Vanderschueren as main shareholders.

BSTOR’s developed financed and owns 75% of the first battery project connected to the Belgian High Voltage grid, in operation in Bastogne since 2021: EStor‑Lux (10MW - 20 MWh).

BSTOR reached financial close and started construction of a 50 MW – 140 MWh project in La Louvière and a 100 MW – 270 MWh project in Aubange, both of which will start operations in 2026.

BSTOR’s ambition is to remain the frontrunner in battery development and financing in Belgium and has secured a >GW scale pipe of land and grid connection rights in various stages of development beyond these 3 projects. BSTOR intention is also to initiate on short to mid-term international diversification and diversification towards the behind-the-meter business model.

In order to support this ambitious growth of the company activities, BSTOR is looking for a talented and committed Senior Market Expert.

Your function

You will be part of and lead the Market and Data Intelligence team in cooperation with the Senior Market and Data Analyst, directly reporting to the Executive Committee and transversally supporting the development and operations Team.

Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain BSTOR market intelligence.

Tasks

Day-to-Day market follow up and dashboarding (with the support of and in cooperation with the Senior Market and Data Analyst);

Periodic and ad hoc analysis of market dynamics/shifts/expectations;

• Define and challenge strategies for market price and BESS revenue projections;
• Contribute to defining appropriate revenue structuration and contracting strategies;
• Close involvement, in support of and in close coordination with the Sales Manager, in revenue generation contract negotiations in development and in performance benchmarking in operations;
• International market follow up and recommendations on diversification;
• Contribution to behind-the-meter business model shaping;
• Participation to M&A due diligence at buy and sell side;

Your profile

• 5+ year of experience in flexibility markets monitoring and analysis in Belgian and surrounding markets.
• Strong analytical but also pedagogic skills. 
• Sound and hands-on experience in renewables/supply/trading risk analysis and hedging opportunity valuation.
• Concrete experience on optimizing/trading and/or valuating BESS is an added value.
• Background in quantitative analysis, knowledge of quantitative modelling is an added value
• Full professional proficiency in English
• MSc in Economy, Energy, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Engineering, or other relevant degree.
• In love with problems solving. No task is too little or too big to you;
• Self-starter, “whatever-it-takes” attitude, team player (lone wolves not welcome…);
• Energy transition enthusiast (battery freaks welcome).
