The solar industry has been a core market for Hyperion since our inception. Years ago, before the boom of solar technology, our Managing Director David Hunt and Director Ross Hoare, built and scaled a multi-award-winning solar installation business. The sector has experienced significant growth, challenges, and changes over the last decade. It remains the backbone of the clean energy transition.

Over the last 20 years, the Energy Storage and grid services industry has continued to evolve, adapt, and innovate in response to the increasing challenges of the clean energy transition, and the demands that places on the grid. It has seen many advances in technology (greater capacity, energy density, durability), and in the multiple chemistries, materials and scales and applications of solutions. This has created a massive demand to hire top talent across an array of storage and grid technologies in both hardware and software/services.

I lead Hyperion's Energy Storage practice in Europe, covering the Battery value chain (cell to system), Stationary ESS, and Storage &amp; Grid Digitalisation. I specialise in C-Suite and Senior-level assignments across Commercial, Operational &amp; Technical disciplines.
Prior to Hyperion, I spent 10 years in executive search for international energy &amp; chemicals, engineering, and digitalisation sectors, which has given me a holistic industry outlook and broad network reach. I'm passionate about building relationships with energy storage and grid leaders and I regularly network at industry conferences and events around Europe, including Energy Storage Summit, Smarter E, and Future Battery Forum. I am excited about building out the Energy Storage team at Hyperion as the sector is growing so quickly!
Outside of work, you'll find me exploring new cities and countries, watching my beloved Wigan Warriors rugby league team and Manchester United (amongst a Hyperion team of Liverpool fans!), or being outdoors with my wife Shell and dog Boston.

David Beeston

I&rsquo;m responsible for leading Hyperion&rsquo;s EV &amp; Future Mobility practice, leveraging over 12 years of search experience in the global energy and automotive sectors. Since 2016, I&rsquo;ve been at the forefront of the EV revolution, having built up a rich network, you are likely to find me attending or speaking at industry events particularly in UK &amp; Europe.
I specialise in leading multi-discipline teams and supporting post-investment startups, scale-ups, multinational corporations and their investors to appoint senior leadership, c-suite and board level talent globally. My experience spans diverse geographies, including living in the Middle East, where I spent two years working with leading international energy companies to hire key, strategic talents across commercial, technical and operational functions.
Beyond my professional achievements, I&rsquo;m deeply passionate about sustainability and the transition to clean technology. As an electric vehicle driver for many years, I&rsquo;m an early adopter and advocate of new technology and as such, have dedicated my career to the energy transition. My commitment to a greener future is fuelled by my role as a father to two beautiful children, Connor and Kate. Connor's asthma has instilled in me a strong desire to create a healthier environment for future generations.
When I&rsquo;m not immersed in the world of search, I enjoy staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Running has been a particular passion of mine since 2020, and I help run a local community running club with close on 300 active members. The physical and mental challenges of running have been invaluable in keeping me grounded and focused whilst being able to unleash my competitive side. I&rsquo;ve completed three marathons to date and look forward to taking on more challenges in due course.

Stephen Robinson

I studied Geography at The University Edinburgh and climate change was a central theme that ran through my degree. After graduating, I knew that I wanted to develop my career in an area which would have a positive impact on our environment and help tackle the effects of climate change. Renewable energy has always really appealed to me and prior to joining Hyperion, I spent nearly five years as Head of Project Resources for a renewable energy installation business. We specialised in solar PV but also installed small-scale wind turbines and renewable heating technologies.
After five great years of the solar boom, I was looking for a new challenge where I could build on my knowledge of and passion for the sector, but by doing something completely different. Hyperion gave me the opportunity to do this and to work within new areas of cleantech. I joined Hyperion Executive Search in 2015 and as COO, (now Director of Hyperion Search Ltd) I draw upon my wealth of experience and insight, helping our clients to recruit the very best talent available in the sector. I oversee the delivery of our search assignments and am passionate about delivering the best possible experience for both our clients and candidates. I love working with our clients who are all having such a big impact on tackling climate change
Having grown up in Kent and studied in Edinburgh, I settled in Liverpool in 2009 and very much consider it home. As an avid Liverpool FC supporter, I try to get to Anfield as much as I can. Nothing beats a Champions League match under the floodlights at Anfield! I&rsquo;m lucky to have two amazing boys who always make me smile, and keep me very busy!! I love spending time outside as a family and holidays in Cornwall. Knowing that my work in the cleantech sector will contribute towards making the world a better place for us, my children and future generations is my biggest inspiration.

Ross Hoare

I lead Hyperion's Renewables practice, specialising in delivering strategic, high-impact leadership hires for global companies dedicated to shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future.
With over seven years of executive search and recruitment experience within the European and US Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage sectors, I'm well versed in connecting Developers, IPPs, OEMs, Venture Capitalists, and Private Equity firms with transformative talent - particularly across Project Development, Commercial, Operational and Technical functions.
Over the years, I've built a strong international network, and you'll often find me at key industry events. I'm highly committed to a consultative, relationship-first approach with both candidates and clients I work with and take great pride in contributing to the transition to a greener planet.
Outside of work, I'm a keen traveller and love exploring new cultures (luckily, my job has taken me to a few new corners of the world). Combining this with my passion for both watching and playing a few sports, I collect a local football shirt from every place I visit! I've also always had a soft spot for animals of all kinds and one day hope to one day set up my own rescue charity.

Prior to joining Hyperion I spent 3 years in Oman working across the Oil &amp; Gas and Mining Sector, placing candidates in roles from Engineer up to Project Director position. My time overseas allowed me to connect with individuals that I wouldn't have had the chance to in the UK and has given me a great perspective and valuable insight in to different cultures and ways of working. Francesca Howell

David Hunt is the founder of Hyperion Search and a prominent figure in the global cleantech talent space. With over 19 years working exclusively within the cleantech and energy transition sector, David built Hyperion Search from the ground up into a leading specialist search firm trusted by founders, investors, and scaling businesses across the energy transition.
After recently stepping back from his executive role, David continues to shape the direction of Hyperion Search as a Non-Executive Director - bringing his unrivalled sector knowledge and network to bear at a strategic level as the firm enters its next chapter.
Alongside his role at Hyperion, David is increasingly active as a board advisor and non-executive, working with founders, investors, and growth-stage companies across the energy and mobility transitions. He also contributes to a number of prominent cleantech organisations and initiatives, including Rockstart Energy, Techstars, and the Greentech Alliance.
A recognised voice within the sector, David is the host of the&nbsp;Leaders in Cleantech podcast, where he speaks with CEOs, founders, and investors shaping the future of energy. He is also a regular speaker and moderator at international industry events, known for his thoughtful perspective on leadership, governance, and the challenges of scaling companies in complex, evolving markets.

David Hunt

Damian serves as a Board Director at Hyperion Search. Additionally, he is the Managing Partner and co-head of HC Group, a worldwide retained search, intelligence, and advisory firm. Damian joined HC Group in London in 2004 before launching the company&rsquo;s Asia platform in Singapore in 2008. He relocated back to London in 2017 and now oversees HC Group's commercial operations across the EMEA and Asia regions.
Damian has partnered a number of leading energy and commodity organisations in the design and implementation of world class physical and financial trading teams. He is currently spearheading the development of HC&rsquo;s advisory services and strategic partnerships strategy.
He holds a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in modern languages from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Damian Stewart

Paul is a Board Director at Hyperion Search and is also the Managing Partner and Co-head of HC Group, a global retained search, intelligence, and advisory firm. He joined HC in 2004 in the London Office. In 2007 he launched HC&rsquo;s Americas offering, basing himself in Houston - where he lives with his family.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Paul holds an MBA from Rice University and a bachelor's degree from University College London. Paul is the host of The HC Commodities Podcast, a chart topping podcast focused on trends and topics in the energy &amp; commodities sector.
